Our Language School teacher, Eoin Flynn, the Irish rocket, made a fantastic time, 1hour, 10 minutes 07 seconds, winning on Sunday 19^th May, the 12^th Half Marathon Puertos de Las Palmas. Miss Kim (Year 5) and Miss Sophie (Year 4) also ran and did very well in the 10.5km race.

Year 2 enjoyed a special activity in the library to celebrate "International Day of the Family".  The children coloured in pictures of different families to decorate the library.  Thank you Miss Naz for organising the activity.

On Monday all of KS1 visited Las Palmas Football Club. We were all very excited to be invited, it is hard to say who was more excited the staff or the children. We had a chance to play some games on the pitch that the players train on and then some of the team came out of the changing room and we had the chance to speak to them, have photographs taken with them and even get their autographs. It was a great day out and we want to thank all those involved in organising it and the parents who came with us. What a lucky group of children we are!!!

Oakley College is delighted to present the following video which is the result of an interesting proposal received from Teatro Cuyás. Early Years children who participate in the extra curricular activity “Theatre and Psychomotricity”, led by our teachers Nuria and Jose, have taken part in this pedagogical project called “Teatrae”. We are proud of our “promising actors and actresses”. This production has been a really gratifying experience for teachers, parents and children who have enjoyed it all along the way! Thanks to all the parents for their support!

Year 7 and 8 made their own book in French or German during the international book week in their Modern Foreign Language class. Lovely and interesting stories are combined with eye-catching layouts.

"Canary Islands: Myths and Leyends to discover” is the exhibition that will be in the library area from 15th to 31st May. As part of this exhibition, there will be a presentation to the Secondary students on 20th May at 9.00am by the writer Juan Carlos Saavedra.

On April 23rd parents were invited to come and read stories to the children in Early Years. The children loved their mums and dads reading fascinating stories to them on this special day.
Thank you to all the parents who were able to come, we shared a lovely afternoon and we are sure that parents enjoyed this experience as much as we did.

On International Book Day Early Years children really enjoyed with our books’ based activity day. In the morning the Rabbits went to the Zuloaga building and Year 1 children read some lovely stories to them. At the same time, Year 2 children visited San Quintin and read some wonderful stories to the Green Owls. Then in the afternoon Rabbits read some books to the Owls, we all enjoyed a fantastic day, full of wonderful stories, a really unforgettable experience!
