KS3 DISCOVERING CANARIAN MYTHS AND LEGENDS

canarianmythLast Monday morning, 20th May a group of students from Year 7, 8 and 9 had the chance to acquire an in-depth knowledge about some events occurred in the Canary Islands.
Secondary students enjoyed learning about the Canary Islands as a Templars refuge and about the mystery island of San Borondón.
The lecture was presented by Juan Carlos Saavedra and organized by Oakley Spanish department.
The presentation lasted over an hour during which time the Canarian writer explained, some of the most interesting aspects related to the Templars, the legend islands,..

11Year 7 and 8 made their own book in French or German during the international book week in their Modern Foreign Language class. Lovely and interesting stories are combined with eye-catching layouts.

CONGRATULATIONS ERIK!

erik2Congratulations to our Year 7 student Erik Herraiz for winning the Canary Islands championship on Inline Skating Hockey. He is now with the team in Madrid fighting for the national final, which is taking place over the weekend of 17th May. Oakley College wish you all the success. Good luck to the team!

KS3 ENJOY MATHLETICS!

MathleticKey Stage 3 have been participating in a trial of Mathletics for the past three weeks and Alex in Year 7 has been awarded with the Mathlete of the Week award. His name will appear on the Mathletics website for the next week and he will be awarded with a certificate and trophy very soon.
